Nature, seasons and festivals

Relation to nature

Throughout the year, we try to establish a close relationship with nature. The circle begins, for example, at the seasonal table. Depending on the season and situation, this is decorated with colored cloths, roots, small woolen figures, flowers (which are in bloom at this time of year) and natural materials. The outside is reflected in the inside and can be experienced by looking at it and touching it.

Year-round outdoor play

We love to play outside, enjoy the awakening of spring with its power and light, summer offers numerous hiding places, air and space for countless games, in fall we move tons of leaves, let bark boats sail on puddles and collect chestnuts, in winter we play with ice and snow.

Imagination and creativity are stimulated

Natural materials can be used for crafting, cooking and making things. "Poison soups" are made from leaves, earth and berries, leaf beds, branch and stick huts, chestnut men and herb butter. Time and time again, we see how imagination and creativity are stimulated by simple "unfinished" materials.

Songs and games accompany the seasons

Songs and games follow the course of the year and the Christian annual festivals form the highlights in this cycle and are duly celebrated together. Our St. Martin's play with lantern procession, accompanied by songs and dances together with parents, is particularly popular in the darker months of the year. And of course there are also croissants to share and steaming punch.

Through the intensive experience of the seasons and times of day and the weekly rhythm with their different qualities, the experience of time can be experienced as a quality.
