Participation in the school community is a field of learning and practice for democratic action for children, young people, parents, teachers and staff in order to learn and deepen the skills necessary for shaping society. It is a logical and contemporary development from the basic foundation of Waldorf education, which aims to enable the practicing of freedom.

The basis for this is a culture of discussion and participation that encourages everyone to want to take part.

It is important that all those involved in the school develop a strong culture of discussion, communication and participation and experience opportunities for democratic participation, co-determination and co-design in the school. Children and young people should be given the time and space at school to develop an attitude and orientation.

It is important to conduct fair negotiation processes, find constructive solutions and resolve conflicts. Those who experience participation can notice how they help shape society through their actions. Everyone should leave school with skills that not only enable them to lead a successful life, but also to actively participate in the further development of society. Only together can we find the best possible solutions. Cooperation must be promoted and people and activities must be networked. We have to DO something if we want to make a difference.

How can this succeed? By all stakeholders working together. That means standing shoulder to shoulder with you!
