The outdoor area
The entire site of the Waldorf School stretches between Marienallee and Jägerstraße in the Prussian Quarter with its typical apartment buildings surrounded by gardens. The school buildings, which date back to different periods of urban development, are harmoniously integrated into the area and surrounded by numerous green, play and sports areas, many of which, including the adjoining small park, can be used by the after-school children in the afternoons. This park is adjoined by the Dresdner Heide, through which the Priessnitz river flows in this area, which naturally serves as a popular excursion destination for teachers and educators.
As every third grade class can realize a building project on the school grounds as part of a house-building week, there are a variety of self-built, individually and wonderfully designed play areas on our grounds, so that each after-school area has its own outdoor area. There are sand and water play areas, bushes and trees for building stalls, climbing equipment, meadows and space for exuberant movement games.
Our rooms
The carefully designed rooms, designed according to the principles of Waldorf education, are a methodical means of framing and promoting the well-being and creativity of the children with the atmosphere of the room. This requires the consistent use of high-quality natural materials and their careful care. Our rooms stimulate the children's imagination and the development of free play with their economical and deliberately creativity-promoting furnishings. They are decorated in warm colors, with wooden furniture, plants, cloths and natural play materials. It is easier for children to find peace and relaxation in an environment that is not flooded with sensory stimuli.
