After-school parents' advisory board (HEB)
The After-School Parents' Council (HEB) is an association of parents' representatives, the after-school management and representative(s) of the provider. The after-school parents' council reports on its activities once a year at the parents' meeting.
The after-school parents' council has the following tasks in particular:
- To make suggestions regarding the organization and design of the after-school care center and to support the professionals in the implementation of events.
- to receive requests, suggestions and proposals from parents/guardians and to submit these to the provider or the management of the after-school care center
- to arouse the interest of parents/guardians in the work of the after-school care center
- to gain public understanding for the work of the after-school care center and for the needs of the facility
- In addition, the after-school parents' council should promote cooperation between the provider, parents, specialists, elementary school and youth welfare office.
The after-school parents' council must be consulted before important decisions are made by the provider. This includes
- the determination of opening and care times
- increasing the snack fee
- the development of or changes to the concept of the facility
- the implementation of major building measures
A change of provider, the closure of a facility or the merger with another facility cannot take place without consulting the after-school parents' council.
